Parenting Class Needs

$1,500 – The HCPCC would like to upgrade their parenting curriculum for prenatal to age 2. This Earn and Learn Program has a higher initial investment, but the ongoing cost is less because the workbooks are reproducible for each family.

$150 – The HCPCC is always in need of cribs, mattresses and sheets and blankets for our babies. The government often changes the regulations on cribs, so usually new cribs are necessary.

Diapers – Currently the HCPCC needs size 4 and 5, but we always have a need for diapers and wipes.

Volunteer of the Year

Marcy Stehling
The Volunteer of the Year for 2011 is Marcy Stehling. Marcy has been a vol-unteer at the HCPCC since August of 2009. Marcy and her husband Pat have one son, three daughters and one son-in-law. They are members of St. Peter‟s Catholic Church here in Boerne. Marcy grew up in Fredericksburg, graduated from UT Austin and lived in San Anto-nio for seventeen years. She and Pat own Mamma Margie‟s Mexican Café in San Antonio. (The food there is great if you haven‟t had a chance to try it! ) She and Pat moved to Boerne in 1999.

In her spare time Marcy likes to crochet baby booties for the families who come to the HCPCC. She also enjoys quilt-ing, traveling and spending time with her family. Marcy tells us that she vol-unteers at the HCPCC because she felt called to serve in our community. She hopes to share with other women about the joy of pregnancy and mother-hood. She also would like to encourage anyone who knows how to crochet, to help out with making the baby booties.
