Volunteer Lay Counselors

Volunteer Lay Counselors at the HCPCC are women just like you who have a heart to assist families in times of crisis.

Crisis intervention comes in many forms. Whether it is providing a pregnancy test for a frightened teen, providing diapers for a mom who just ran out of money to buy more or giving factual information about sexually transmitted diseases – our counselors make a profound difference in the lives of families in Kendall County.

If you would like to become a Lay Counselor it requires only 3 things:

  1. Agree with and adhere to the mission and policies of the HCPCC.
  2. Make a commitment to be at the HCPCC each week at the same time for 3 hours.
  3. Complete the volunteer training requirements by attending 24 hours of training and completing a volunteer manual ($20.00).
